Who we are
Properly Prep’d is run by Ben Parlato, a sole trader, in Gnosall, Staffordshire. Contact Ben on 07399 492374, by WhatsApp, or at benjaminparlato@yahoo.com.
Ordering
Orders for each week’s deliveries close at 6:30pm on the Sunday before. Your order is confirmed when you’ve paid and we’ve emailed you a confirmation. Prices are shown in pounds, including any VAT, and delivery within our delivery area is free.
Cancellations and refunds
Before Sunday 6:30pm: message Ben to cancel and he’ll refund you in full, to the card you paid with (or back onto your gift voucher).
After Sunday 6:30pm, orders can’t be cancelled, changed or refunded, because Ben buys the ingredients and starts cooking for the orders he has.
The usual 14-day right to cancel online orders doesn’t apply, because our meals are made to order and won’t keep (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 28(1)(b)).
If something’s wrong
This doesn’t affect your rights. If meals are missing, wrong or not fit to eat, contact Ben within 24 hours of delivery, with a photo if you can, and he’ll refund or replace them. You also have the rights the Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you.
If we can’t deliver a week
Now and then Ben can’t deliver a week, for example over a holiday or if he’s ill. We’ll tell you as soon as we can. Weekly plans aren’t charged for that week, and any one-off orders for it are refunded in full.
Delivery
Ben delivers on the day you choose, Monday or Tuesday, within the delivery window shown at checkout. Please make sure someone can take the delivery, or leave clear delivery notes. If nobody’s home, Ben will call the mobile number given with the order, and if he can’t reach you he’ll arrange another time to deliver.
Weekly plans
By starting a weekly plan, you allow us to charge your saved card at 6:30pm each Sunday for that week’s box, until you pause or cancel your plan. A box can’t be refunded once it’s been charged.
From your account, before the cutoff, you can skip a week, pause your plan for 1 to 4 weeks, or cancel it. Skipped and paused weeks aren’t charged. If a payment fails, there’s no box that week and we’ll email you to update your card.
Your box is your usual meals, plus any seasonal swaps or extras you’ve chosen; if a usual meal comes off the menu, Ben swaps in another. If the price of your plan changes, we’ll email you at least 2 weeks before, so you can change or cancel it first.
Discounts and gift vouchers
The 5% first-order discount can be used once per email address, on your first one-off order or your first weekly box, whichever comes first. Promo codes have their own dates and limits, and can’t be exchanged for cash. Discounts don’t add together: if more than one applies, the bigger one is used.
Gift vouchers last 12 months from purchase, can be spent on one-off orders (not weekly plans), and can’t be exchanged for cash. Anything left on a voucher stays on it until it expires. Changed your mind? We’ll refund a voucher in full if you ask within 14 days of buying it and it hasn’t been used.
Allergens and food safety
Each meal lists which of the 14 main allergens it contains. Please check them, and tell Ben about any allergy before ordering. Ben handles allergens properly in his kitchen to avoid cross-contamination. Keep meals refrigerated and follow the storage and reheating instructions on each one.
Our responsibility to you
If we break these terms, we’re responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result, up to the price of the order it relates to. We’re not responsible for losses we couldn’t have foreseen, or for any business losses.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence (including illness from our food), for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales, or in Scotland or Northern Ireland if you live there.
