Who looks after your details
Ben Parlato, trading as Properly Prep’d, is responsible for your details. Contact him at benjaminparlato@yahoo.com or on 07399 492374.
What we keep, and why
- Your name, email, phone number and address, to take your order, deliver it and contact you about it.
- Your delivery notes and any allergy or dietary note, so Ben can deliver safely and cook safely for you. An allergy note is health information: we only use it for your orders.
- Your orders and weekly plan, to run them and keep the records the law requires.
- Messages you send through the website, so Ben can reply.
- A gift voucher recipient’s name and email, given by the person buying it, so we can send them their voucher.
- App notifications: if you turn them on, we keep the address your phone or browser gives us for sending them. They’re delivered through your device’s own notification service (such as Apple’s or Google’s). Turn them off any time in the app or your settings.
Why we’re allowed to use them
- To carry out your order or plan: your contact details, address, notes, orders and payments.
- Because the law requires it: keeping order and payment records for tax.
- With your consent: your allergy or dietary note, which you choose to give us, and app notifications. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- In our legitimate interests: replying to your messages, and sending a gift voucher to the person it’s for.
Who we share them with
We never sell your details. We use a few trusted services to run the shop, and they only use your details to provide that service to us:
- Stripe takes card payments and keeps the card for your weekly plan. We never see or keep your card number. Stripe’s privacy policy explains how they look after it.
- Resend sends our emails.
- DigitalOcean hosts the website and its database.
Where any of them handle your details outside the UK, they’re protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
Emails
We email you about your orders and your account (confirmations, sign-in links, reminders for your weekly plan). We don’t send marketing emails.
Cookies and visitor stats
We use one cookie, to keep you signed in. Your basket and app settings are kept in your own browser. We count visits without cookies and without keeping your IP address, so we can’t recognise you from one day to the next.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept for six years, for tax. Your other details (your account, addresses, notes and messages) are deleted two years after your last order or weekly box.
Your rights
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, to correct them, or to delete them (except what the law says we must keep), and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Contact Ben. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
